Rock Boxing Gym in Salinas has one fighter, Adolfo Gonzales, prepared to make his professional debut June 19 in the Central Valley town of Lindsay. Gonzales is scheduled to fight Stephen Rubalcaba in a four-round bout.

With the unknown status of Fight Night, James Jimenez of Rock Boxing said he can only hope the series returns or another one comes around as Salinas continues to groom boxers.

Salinas native Adolfo Gonzalez won his professional boxing debut Saturday in Lindsay behind a supportive hometown contingent.

More than 70 people from Salinas made the three-and-half-hour trip to the Central Valley town to watch the 24-year-old southpaw defeat Lindsay fighter Stephan Rubalcava by unanimous decision in a 149-pound, four-round bout.
